Unlike standard 24 AWG patch cords, slim patch cords feature 28 AWG cable, resulting in a markedly slimmer profile and a more compact size.

The use of reduced-diameter cords in structured cabling systems (SCS) saves space when organising cable runs and improves air circulation within enclosures and racks. Owing to their compact size, such cords are ideal for high-density environments, e.g., in data centres.

These patch cords are certified to Category 6 performance and fully comply with ISO/IEC 11801, EN50288-2-2, ANSI/TIA-568.2-D standards.

The jacket material is low-smoke and zero-halogen.

The junction between the RJ-45 plug and the cable is filled with a plastic to ensure a strong interconnection. Such a connection is called molded. A special flexible element is provided at the molded part, to protect the locking latch of the RJ-45 plug against damage or breakage.
