Lanmaster Telecommunications Cabling System for Residential and Small Commercial Buildings

In modern houses and apartments, an increasing number of electronic systems, devices and equipment appear, requiring integration into a single network, as well as access to the Internet. In addition to the usual voice, television and computer networks, many homes use video surveillance systems, access control, fire alarms, home automation and much more. Building a separate cable system for each structure is too troublesome and expensive. The use of wireless systems cannot be a complete solution due to the limited scope, low noise immunity and strong signal degradation in reinforced concrete structures.

All this leads to the need for a holistic approach in the design and installation of indoor low-current cable systems. The telecommunication cabling system is becoming as important as the electrical and water supply networks, air conditioning and ventilation systems, and like all other utility systems must be built based on a single standard.

The basic principles and requirements for the design of a telecommunications cabling system for a residential building are defined in the international standard ANSI/TIA-570-C Residential Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard.

Fundamentals of ANSI/TIA-570-C

The international ANSI/TIA-570-C standard describes the cabling infrastructure for the distribution of telecommunications services in private and multi-apartment buildings. The residential building cabling is limited on one side by the access provider's equipment interface, called the demarcation point, and the hardware cords of the connected equipment on the other side.

The ANSI/TIA-570-C standard requires residential cabling to be the star topology with one distribution device in the center.

Each telecommunication socket must be connected with a separate cable link; daisy-chaining of sockets is not allowed. The maximum length of the cable line between the distribution device and the telecommunication outlet should not exceed 90 meters.

Recognized cable types include:

  • 4-Pair 100-ohm UTP cable, category 5e, 6;
  • RG6 75-ohm coaxial cable;
  • RG59 75-ohm coaxial cable for CCTV only;
  • 9/125 single-mode and 50/125 multi-mode optical fiber.

The standard defines two grades of cable systems for a residential building

The first grade cable system (Grade 1) meets the basic requirements for the voice, television and computer network transmission. Each telecommunications outlet in a Grade 1 cabling system must be connected to the Distribution Device with at least one twisted pair cable and one coaxial cable.

Grade 2 cabling provides additional capabilities for today's and tomorrow's high-speed applications and multimedia services. Each telecommunication socket of the second grade cable system must use at least two twisted pair cables, two coaxial cables, and it is also possible to use at least two optical cables to the socket.

LANMASTER Home Cabling System (HCS)

LANMASTER HCS fully complies with the requirements of the ANSI/TIA-570-C standard.

The components of the system are made in the form of separate modules, which allows the user to select the required composition of components, depending on the size and functionality of the cable system. In addition to apartments and cottages, the components of the HCS can be used to create cable systems in a small office, as well as when wiring entrance/floor subnets for residential building cable systems.

The system includes a in built-in cabinet for placing LANMASTER HCS components. The cabinet equipped with a perforated mounting panel for quick installation of HCS components and other equipment using self-tapping screws. All LANMASTER HCS modules use the front cable connection and have holes for front mounting, which allows them to be installed in wiring cabinets from other manufacturers or simply on the wall.

LANMASTER Home Cabling System Modules

LAN-HCS-PP8U5E

UTP Cat. 5E patch panel, 8 ports, front mounting

Front-mount Category 5e unshielded patch panel with 8 RJ-45 ports. Type 110 connectors are marked with T568B wire map. The sockets are equipped with dust caps.

LAN-HCS-PPT2X6

Voice patch panel, parallel connection 2х6

The phone line splitter is designed to organize parallel connections to one phone line. The splitter has two 4-pin IDC input connectors of the 110 type, the signal from which is fed in parallel to six output connectors.

LAN-HCS-TV1X8

Cable TV splitter, 1х8

The cable TV splitter allows you to feed a high-frequency signal from the one input to eight parallel outputs. F-connectors with threaded fastening must be used to connect the cables. Operating frequencies from 5 to 2400 MHz.

LAN-HCS-TVSA25

TV signal amplifier, 25 dB

The TV signal amplifier raises the signal level by 25 dB. F-connectors with threaded fastening must be used to connect the cables.

LAN-HCS-FOMB4

Fiber optics box for 4 SC adapters, plastic

Plastic box with a sliding cover is designed for organizing small house cross-connection or fiber optics user sockets with the ability to install up to 4 SC adapters, or up to 8 LC adapters.

LAN-HCS-HUB8

10/100 Mbps Ethernet network switch, 8 ports

Small size 10/100 network switch is designed for organizing an intra-house wired network and shared Internet access.

LAN-HCS-BOX

Built-in cabinet with mounting panel, 400x380x100 mm, grey

The cabinet is installed in the wall and is designed to accommodate the modules of the home cabling system (HCS) or as a small industrial automation cabinet. It has a galvanized perforated mounting plate fixed with 4 screws in the cabinet body. The modules are fastened to the cabinet’s mounting panel using self-tapping screws with M3.3 thread. The door is equipped with a tilt-and-turn lock handle and two ventilation grilles. Cable inlets are located on the top and bottom of the cabinet. The back of the cabinet is equipped with a metal mesh to prevent accidental drilling from the outside. Has steel body material.

In addition to these components, the company provides a large number of cable system components used in the construction of the HCS: twisted-pair copper cables, fiber-optic and coaxial cables, connectors, telecommunication sockets, patch cords, fasteners and labels, installation tools and test equipment.

You can easily find all these and many other products in our electronic catalog.
