LANMASTER DCS series cabinets. The perfect scalable Data Center solution
The LANMASTER DCS cabinet line is designed to meet the special requirements and features of Data Centers. The design of the cabinet has been optimized to minimize installation time by using the large-units assembly method with a reduced number of operations.
Load capacity 1500 kg
Prefabricated frame designed for increased static load
Perforation over 80%
Profiled doors with high perforation ratio provide efficient cooling of equipment installed in the cabinet
LAN-DCS cabinets are designed to make further operation is as simple and convenient as possible. Cabinet's construction provides quick access to the equipment from any side, enabling modifications, expansion, implementing changes on-the-go.
Design Features
- The rear doors are double-sided. This saves server room space and provides easy access for equipment maintenance.
- Quick-removable lightweight side panels are split in height and can be dismantled independently.
- The mounting profiles position can be changed in depth, even after assembling the cabinet. Horizontal profiles are marked in 6.4 mm increments to aid placing the profiles in the same position.
- Cable entries are along the entire perimeter of the roof, allowing cables to be led into the cabinet from any side.
- Vertical trays are included in the cabinet set. Trays have hinges for quick mounting of vertical power distribution units (PDUs)
Cooling system optimization.
A complete solution based on modular units.
The key implemented design features make LAN-DCS cabinets an excellent choice: easy to install and reliable in further operation. In addition, cabinets are the main element for construction of various modular systems providing separation of hot and cold air flows in the Data Center space.
The advisability of separating air flows at a Data Center is no longer debated. The reason is that Data Centers consume huge amounts of power. A significant share of it is used by the cooling systems. To reduce overall power consumption, it is imperative to reduce the power consumption of cooling systems.
Rack architecture plays a key role in designing a proper energy-saving Data Center system. The most effective air conditioning scheme is based on separation of cold and hot air flows. With proper organization of the server room architecture, as much as 30-50% of power costs can be saved.
Insulated Containment Configurations
The best insulation option depends on the Data Center conditions and requirements. In the classical scheme of cold and hot air flows separation, cabinets with IT equipment are placed in a row, with side surfaces abutting each other. An air conditioning system with air supplied from under a raised floor is used. Heated air is discharged into a separate containment, from where it is fed to an air conditioner.
Efficient convection is provided by high perforation coefficients of doors, more than 80%.
The main advantages of installing a cold-air containment at a Data Center are:
- Maximum reduction of energy costs
- Preventing local overheating zones
- Physical security of the Data Center
- Real-time IT equipment temperature indicators
- Saving space in terms of structure expansion
Flexibility and scalability are important factors in future operations.
When planning a Data Center, it is very important to consider the convenience of operating all the Data Center equipment in the future. This is directly related to the insulated containment design, which should be extensible and sustainable.
The modularity of cold/hot containments elements makes it possible to design the structure for any room, for any requirements, with the possibility of future expansion. If expansion is necessary, the new elements are easily integrated into the existing system.
Insulated Containment Elements
When designing cold/hot containment solutions, it is important to avoid the risk of hot air recirculation, which can lead to local overheating. It is necessary to physically separate cold and hot air flows. Therefore, the LANMASTER solution based on LAN-DC cabinets implements a number of solutions for optimal achievement of the tasks.
Containment Roof
Containment roof sections cover the space between two rows of cabinets to form an insulated containment. The roofs are light-permeable, available in two versions: fixed-type and tilting-type. The tilting roofs are equipped with electromagnetic locks to enable feeding fire extinguishing agent to the containment in case of fire alarm.

End Panels for Containment
When it is necessary to provide access from only one side of a containment, the other entrance can be closed off using end panels. The use of panels is justified not only in terms of economy. If a containment needs to be extended, the panels can be quickly dismantled, the necessary cabinets added to a row, and the panels re-installed between the outer cabinets in the row.

Cable Flow Organization
Data Centers are known for huge cable flows. In order to distribute them properly, making sure they do not block cooling and equipment access, the cabinet design provides various cable inputs. Options for cable laying are also provided. In particular, high-capacity vertical organizers can be installed in cabinets of 800 mm width. Also, for all models, partitions and dividers for installation directly on the cabinet roof are available.
